Our story first started on a spring weekend in Washington D.C. Little did we know, we were actually within a mile of each other having brunch with our friends.

Who knew this would be the start of something special.

Thanks to the algorithm of dating apps, locational services (thank you Apple for stalking us), we matched a week later.

The night of our first conversation, poor Dildeep was up all night studying during PA school, while Maulik was sitting on the dining table eating his protein-filled dinner. That night, one thing that stood out to Maulik was that Dildeep was into weight lifting, and that she had her own olympic weight set in her apartment during the pandemic. That’s dedication right there! What stood out to Dildeep was how easygoing Maulik was and how a complete stranger she had only been talking to for hours helped destress her from the demands of grad school.

A few weeks later, Maulik drove down from Jersey to DMV and we had our first date at Korean BBQ. After dinner, we spent hours talking in the parking lot next to Dildeep’s big a** hummer. It was then when we both realized that there was a special connection between us.

After multiple dates, Maulik finally moved down to Virginia on September 4th, 2021 and that same night, he asked Dildeep to be his girlfriend in the very same spot they spent hours talking on their first date.

Throughout the next few years, we spent lots of time getting to know and learn each other, we had our laughters, fair share of crying moments, and experienced personal and professional hardship. Despite the ups and downs, we never left each other’s side. We took on every challenge as a team, while supporting one another and growing together as one.

We continued to make countless memories for a lifetime. Traveling domestically and internationally (yes, Dildeep dragged Maulik out of the house and gym!), trying new hobbies, and helping each other step out of our comfort zones.

On January 17, 2024, on the warm, sandy beaches of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, we both made the decision of a lifetime. We decided we didn’t want to continue this journey as boyfriend and girlfriend, but as husband and wife.

This sacred commitment was an easy one to make for the both of us.

As our wedding date is quickly approaching, we eagerly look forward to having all of our close family and friends celebrating this special moment with us. Having you all present is the most precious and priceless gift we can ask for.
